  2. I am a mouse that goes on adventures to the kingdom of fantasy. I am a knight but I am a scaredy-mouse!!! And I run a newspaper stand called the rodent's gazette. I make stories too! What story am I ?

Inventing Tenting - Design Process

For Maths today, Room 18 have been building paper tents from the Figure It Out activity called, Inventing Tenting.  Room 18 were able to work either alone, with a partner or in a small group to create their tent.  This was super enjoyable, and was great to see different skills and strategies being used. Some chose to meticulously plan, some worked with paper folding and some got straight into cutting and taping.  One question which arose was, how do you create a cone shape? Alucious was able to work out how to make a cone! In Room 18 we would love to hear your comments and questions about our learning.  Room 18 will also be adding comments about how they made their tent. Ideas by Semith and Khoi Ana and Kiera cutting out shapes Here are our meticulous planners! Tariq did a lot of paper folding to work out his design. He also created a shade sail. In Room 18, we have been reading about the history of telescopes. Did you know that a telescope was originally a toy? It wasn't until Galilei Galileo decided to make a real one!. We made a type of telescope, called a kaleidoscope, which uses the reflective powers of light and mirrors to create a visual feast for the eyes. If you visit individual blogs (Kruthen & Semith) they have added to the experience by adding some house music.
